Senior Systems Administrator

The Vacancy
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the IT Department within Plessey Semiconductors Ltd, based at our manufacturing site in Roborough, Plymouth.
You will be involved in project work including upgrades to current systems, implementations of new systems and introducing process and/or system improvements where required. You will actively monitor and maintain infrastructure, assuring data security standards are applied and adhered to and resolve complex escalated issues as part of the final line of support. Your responsibilities will include server infrastructure, security and maintenance, software configuration, deployment, and management.
You will require the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience (4 years +) in a System Administration or similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Windows Server from 2012R2 to 2019.
- Microsoft 365 administration.
- Microsoft Server Technologies (Exchange, SQL etc.).
- Active Directory Services including , DNS, DHCP, GPO’s etc.
- Microsoft Azure AD administration.
- A good working knowledge of PowerShell.
- VMware/vSphere or other virtualisation technologies.
- Mobile device management,
- Windows Client Operating Systems (Windows 10 & 11 ).
- Understanding of Information and Data Security principles.
- Understanding of ISO27001 controls and implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Willingness to mentor others within the infrastructure team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
